A Concert Masterclass with Glenn Allen

Broadway actor and New York City Opera leading tenor Glenn Seven Allen will lead a concert and a master class in singing and acting. Participants will sing a self-selected song and learn techniques for voice and stage discussed in Allen’s book, The Singer Acts,the Actor Sings. Allen will demonstrate various methods to improve singing and acting, and all participants will have an opportunity to practice them. Several local guest singers will be featured.

Allen, a lifelong summer resident of the island, is a professor of acting and singing at Yale School of Drama and New York University Tisch School of the Arts.

Copies of The Singer Acts, the Singer Acts(Bloomsbury Press) will be available for sale at the class. Paired with online videos and exercises, the book is a practical way for professionals and amateurs to acquire new singing and acting skills and gain deeper insight into their own strengths.
