Andrew Sords

Andrew Sords is an internationally acclaimed violinist who has appeared with orchestras and recital series throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. In recent seasons he has toured extensively across the United States and Canada, with performances ranging from major metropolitan venues to remote regions of Canada’s Far North.

Sords has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras including the Traverse City Philharmonic, Greensboro Symphony, El Paso Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and the Toronto Philharmonia, among many others. A frequent recitalist, he has performed in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington, D.C., and internationally in Mexico, Australia, and the Caribbean.

An active chamber musician, Sords regularly performs with his Los Angeles–based trio and with distinguished collaborators in concert series across North America and abroad. He is also known for championing both standard violin repertoire and rarely performed works.

Born in Newark, Delaware and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Sords studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Southern Methodist University. He now resides in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
