About
Founded in 2004, the Everon Duo (named for J.R.R Tolkien’s poem “The Road Goes Ever On”) began as a pair of Michigan State University friends performing for several years before coming to teach at Albion College. Percussionist Stacey Jones, winner of the 1998 music Teacher’s National Association percussion competition, is the principal percussionist with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. Jones also performs with her husband as the percussion duo Equal Temperament and as a solo marimbist throughout the United States. She plays in community and children’s concerts as an active music outreach performer. Flutist Tess Miller, adjunct flute instructor at Albion and Alma Colleges, is a freelance performer with the Lansing, Jackson, Midland, and Battle Creek Symphony Orchestras as well as artistic co-director and performer with the Mackinac Island Community Foundation Summer Concert Series. She plays second flute with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. A seasoned chamber musician, Miller has played with the Folias Latin dance Project. Says Miller of the Everon Duo, “Stacey and I are thrilled to be performing this music.”
