Monotype with Joan Richmond

Explore the possibilities of monotype printing (one-of-a-kind images) in this all-day session. We’ll experiment with three different approaches—transfer drawings, painting on a plate and wiping into ink—to achieve creative effects. Nontoxic, water-based pigments will be used.

Joan Richmond, a graduate of the Art Academy of Cincinnati and holding an MFA from the University of Notre Dame, taught painting for 10 years at Northwestern Michigan College and continues to instruct drawing and painting workshops. Richmond works both in open air and in the studio. She exhibits regionally, is represented in Midwest corporate collections and has served at several residencies including visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome.  For more information see joanrichmondart.com
