About
Weave a tiny tapestry!
Students will learn to warp a frame loom, use weaving techniques, and how to finish pieces. We will discuss color combos, types of yarn and fiber and how to use them in weaving. All tools and supplies will be provided, and students will take home their finished tapestries. This is a great workshop for beginner weavers or those interested in new techniques.
All supplies are provided, but optional items that you might choose to bring include scissors, yarn, fiber, beads, or accessories of your own to include into your weaving.
About the Instructor
Jasmine Petrie of Howl at the Loom is a weaver, natural dyer, zine maker, workshop instructor, loom doctor, DIYer, and life artist. She resides in the forests of her childhood in Northern Michigan with her family and menagerie of animals - all the while tending garden, enjoying nature, and occasionally traveling afar.
Jasmine holds an A.A. and Certificate in Textiles from North Central Michigan College and continues to fulfill a hunger for deeper knowledge of fiber arts by seeking further study under renowned instructors including Shanna Robinson, India Flint, Elin Noble, Mary Zicafoose, and Alissa Allen.
