About
Warren & Flick create music that feels both grounded and adventurous—rooted in tradition yet open to exploration.
Featuring Jacob Warren on double bass and Grant Flick on violin, tenor guitar, and nyckelharpa, the duo blends original composition and improvisation with classical, jazz, and folk influences.
The two met in 2015 at the Acoustic Music Seminar at the Savannah Music Festival, launching a musical partnership that has grown into a deeply collaborative friendship. Their albums—Kestrel (2019), Waxwing (2022), and Cormorant (2025)—showcase an evolving sound rich with inventive textures and stylistic range.
Beyond performing and recording, Warren & Flick are passionate educators, leading workshops that encourage young musicians to explore improvisation, ear training, and acoustic traditions often overlooked in traditional music programs. Both artists are graduates of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance.
